Ivaylo & Slammer feat. Renate - Breathe Easy (Bogota Records)

Coming Soon From Bogota Records ------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Breathe Easy
2. Breathe Easy (Kelvin K Playin Old School Mix)
3. Breathe Easy (Jarle Bråthen Remix)
4. Breathe Easy (Sound Solutions Remix)
5. Breathe Easy (Arildo Remix)

"Bogota Records return with a follow up to their truly special summer hit "Guide Line". Where that was a statement of intent, their new single "Breathe Easy" aims to cement the winning combination of producers Ivaylo and Slammer with singer Renate. It's another thick mix of Bogota style balanced by perfectly arranged remixes, each molded into their own strong identity and building on the solid foundation set by the original. Ivaylo is a Bulgarian native based in Oslo, at the head of Bogota Records, and Slammer is the label’s sound technician. "Breathe Easy" is the latest of their numerous planned projects. Renate is a good friend of Ivaylo and they have worked together previously, highlighting her delicate vocal delivery over smooth house productions. Their coupling has already proven itself to be a memorable and enduring collaboration, so it’s not surprising the two have set a goal of eventually performing live together. Let's start off by noting how clear it's becoming that Renate's voice has a uniquely, distinguishing personality that is hard to place, but easy to love. She always delivers with an understated sweetness characteristic of what the music world has come to treasure in Scandinavian pop with indie and experimental leanings. Where it gets tricky is the smoothed over, soulful diva accents that bring to mind wonderful jazz and chill out performances. On "Breathe Easy", Renate's vocal nuances work to completely pull the listener in once again, teetering on the wait for her to deliver closure while also hoping it never ends. Meanwhile, the production efforts of Ivaylo and Slammer depend on hard drum programming and a murky low end while the synths take an elevator softly towards a bright, arpeggiated climax. The remixes flow from Oslo to Bulgaria, from the Bay Area to Barcelona. Kelvin K (Lost My Dog) is a transplant between England and the States' West Coast. He's very well versed in the American house music sound, having performed with a lot of its key DJs and producers (Larry Heard, King Britt, Jovonn, and more). His Playin Old School Mix does what it says on the tin with a perfectly rounded bass line, lovely Rhodes keys, and sharp horn stabs that bring to mind better times for the musicality of house productions. Norwegian Jarle Bråthen's productions have made their way onto a few releases for Prins Thoms' Full Pupp label. That should lend a clue as to the squelchy, somewhere between acid and Italo disco direction of his cosmically inclined remix. It makes for a very spacious club tune. Sound Solutions is a two years running meeting of the minds between Bulgarian DJ / producer Ognyan Gurkov and musician / composer Iasmin Issinov. Together they start their remix of "Breathe Easy" with lush strings before introducing a futuristic soundscape with their synth work, contrasting this with vibrant piano notes. It builds up into a euphoric release. Arildo, a good friend of the Bogota label and owner of Cymasonic Recordings, finishes off the release with a mechanical, but funky remix. There's a springy, percussive shuffle on top of a bludgeoning bass sound as well as deep, dusty pads that mirror the low end flow."

Josh Caffe & David Newton - All Gone (feat. Fi McCluskey) (Get Up Recordings)

Coming Soon From Get Up Recordings ------------------------------------------------------------------

1. All Gone (feat. Fi McCluskey)
2. All Gone (feat. Fi McCluskey) (DJ Spun Diva From the Deep Dub)
3. All Gone (feat. Fi McCluskey) (Boogie Balo Remix)

"Get Up Recordings continues to bring the heat this summer with “All Gone”, the latest track from London’s Josh Caffe & David Newtron, featuring backing vocals from fellow Londoner Fi McCluskey. The release also includes remixes from veteran producers DJ Spun and Louie ‘Balo’ Guzman. Josh Caffe is no stranger to Get Up Recordings. In 2013 he produced and released “Playing With The Maid” with Batty Bass head honcho Hannah Holland to much success. He is also no stranger to his fellow producer for this new single, David Newton. Josh and David have teamed up before to produce the double A-side track on Batty Bass Records, “As I Look” and “Let Love Ruin”. Josh is a prolific DJ in the London scene with two monthly parties in Dalston – one at the Ace Hotel and the other at Vogue Fabrics – and is no stranger to the Glastonbury, Lovebox, Farr Festival, and Summer Rites festivals. He has built a following with his trademark blend of self-assured bitch house, US house, and ghetto tech. David (a.k.a. Jeroen De Pessemier), an acclaimed synthpop musician, has toured the world with his band, The Subs. He has done remix work for La Roux, Alt J, Chemical Brothers, and Cassius, and has worked with and produced with such musicians as Azari & III, Philippe Zdar, Chat Blake, Etienne De Crécy, and Alex Gopher. This time they have enlisted the soulful powerhouse Fi McCluskey to turn out this silky smooth beautiful jam titled “All Gone”. Both Josh and Fi take turns with the vocals while the bass and keys get deep. The remixes highlight what is beautiful about the track. It gets re-worked by two legendary DJ / producers, DJ Spun and Louie Balo. As a curator for seven years for MoMa / P.S.1’s Warm Up Series and the All Night Rong parties with DJ Harvey, few have contributed as much to the ongoing vitality of electronic music in NYC in the new millennium as Rong Music label owner DJ Spun. In addition to his own production, as well as with Mark Bell as Blackspun, he has remixed for such people as Gavin & Robbie Hardkiss and Douglas J. McCarthy of Nitzer Ebb. Spun takes “All Gone” and strips it down to a simple and beautiful late night deep house dub. The second remixer is long time legendary producer Louie ‘Balo’ Guzman. His list of original and remix production work is endless, from his own label Battlewax Recordings, to The Ride Committee, to his work with Roxy. With releases on such labels as Tribal America, Nite Grooves, Nervous, and Eightball Records to such anthems as “Get Huh”, his house sound is unmistakable. Louie reworks “All Gone” with his signature style by taking bits of the vocals and working them into a frenzy and finally unleashing them on the build up while keeping the mix down deep."

audioJazz - Summer City Nights / My House (audioJazz Music)

Coming Soon From audioJazz Music ------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Summer City Nights (feat. Yvonne Gage)
2. My House Jazz-influenced harmonics and tech-inspired roots mix to create the distinct and eclectic sounds of audioJazz.

DJ Bai-ee and musicians Dirty Turk and K Koltz collaborate to create imaginative music inspired by the house scenes of NYC and Chicago. The audioJazz sound is deeply rooted in house music’s past but feels like something soon to come, ‘future old school’ if you will. The trio has ties to New York and Oakland but came together in Chicago, bringing each of their pronounced influences to the group. The result is an exploratory selection of deep house with an inclusive attitude, often featuring vocalists and musicians from across the country. Following up the more raw live tracked studio recordings of the '7 Inch Music Sessions', audioJazz provides a deep refresher with “Summer City Nights” and “My House”, newly prepped for vinyl release. "Summer City Nights" features the iconic voice of Yvonne Gage calling out for the return of summer nights after a long Chicago winter. Upbeat and hard-hitting, smooth soft pads, classic piano stabs, and a spongy bass line make for a '90s Windy City appeal. Starting off much softer, "My House" makes use of busy drums to propel the track forward before building into a swirl of psychedelic synths. audioJazz’s Dirty Turk steps in the booth to let everyone know whose house this is over a Juno bass that rides the line between deep and driving.

Steve Arrington - Without Your Love (Tummy Touch)

"Coming Soon From Tummy Touch ------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Without Your Love (12" Version)
2. Without Your Love (Dub Version)
3. Nobody Else But You (Opolopo Remix)

Lately, after dropping off of the funk music map to answer a higher-higher calling, Steve Arrington has been revisiting his younger self, twenty plus years more mature. In his 20s he was a part of the '70s funk group Slave before branching off on his own. He had many hit singles in both capacities that would go on to be sampled by the top players in hip-hop (just check the credits on tracks by A Tribe Called Quest, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, N.W.A, etc). This isn't to say he isn't focused on his present self, having worked with Dâm-Funk for Stones Throw recently. It's very much a conversation -- one that the Tummy Touch label is helping to facilitate. Tummy Touch have put together a platform to release Steve Arrington's single “Without Your Love", as part of their upcoming collection Way Out 80 - 84. The song was started in 1982, but was put in the can and never finished or released. This year it was pulled out of the abyss and finally finished and mixed down. A sweet dub companion from Tim "Love” Lee is included which those graduated from the nu school of disco should flip out over. Also featured is another of Steve's tracks remixed by Opolopo (Tokyo Dawn / Local Talk) with modern 'umph,' done up totally '80s style. "Without Your Love" lets listeners know right from the start that Steve's still "got that vibe" and is "keeping it funky," picking up right where he left off. Lyrically, there's no doubt it's an uplifting tune and musically it's as heavy with funk as ever. A bass guitar rattles off with smooth licks on top and there's plenty of hand percussion adding to the lively feel of the groove. There's an instrumental included for those with alternative motives. Further adding to the choices, Tim "Love" Lee provides a dub sure to dovetail booties right for the dance floor. His version is everything anybody would ever want in a dub, extending it out spaciously into ten glorious minutes. It's not tough to imagine the field day a veteran DJ would have teasing it out with hands glued to the isolators. The plentiful and ever diverse Opolopo introduces a remix of “Nobody Else But You", another Steve Arrington gem. The vocals are the party favorite, delivered enthusiastically and sure to inspire a crowd to sing along, while Opolopo's production will bring out the best in step-then-clap boogie moves. In true G-funk fashion, the synths sound burnt out, squealing as they spin up a cloud of smoke. The sliding bass is rubbery as hell and the rhythmic guitar struts its stuff over top.

Blue Soul - Sinister Ana / The Menacing (Roam Recordings)

Coming Soon From Roam Recordings
------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Sinister Ana
2, The Menacing

A cornerstone of the Roam Recordings revival, Scott Boutin (aka Blue Soul) is an extremely talented and versatile producer. He has been spotted issuing singles for the likes of Whiskey Pickle, Thoughtless, and 3AM Devices as well as more experimental music under the moniker Archetypewriter. In his previous on Roam, "Summer Trip," Scott showed us his smoother '80s infused house sound. This new EP could not be more different, both tracks are mid-tempo, moody acid techno with a lot of attitude. The name of the first cut, "Sinister Ana," says it all; this track meticulously seeps in with an edgy acid bass line, gothic synths, and Arp synths that take mental prisoners through calculated transmutations. "The Menacing" is also aptly named, beckoning in all its glory with twisted horns and relentless acid notes while at the same time proving damn funky. In fact, both of these tunes maintain an 'evil' edge with grooves sure to creep into the body. This is not an EP for the fainthearted, but instead for those more adventurous DJs and dance floors ... dig in.

Trulz & Robin presents: Robomatic - Mpc 101 (Cymasonic Recordings)

Trulz & Robin presents: Robomatic - Mpc 101 (Cymasonic Recordings)

Coming Soon From Cymasonic Recordings

------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Nya drömmar

2. Elven

3. Siste stasjon

4. Bleep

5. Kan inte stoppa

6. Äntligen hemma

The Cymasonic Recordings label has gotten its hands on a textbook specimen of the old school electro sound with the Mpc 101 EP. The six track mini-LP is the undertaking of Robomatic,
a moniker assumed for this project by Robin C, also one half of Trulz
& Robin and Dance Disorder. At a time when much of dance music is
being degraded and repurposed for a younger generation mostly unaware of
their roots, this 'electro-romantic' homage to the true sound proves a
necessary addition to the dialogue: electro said in confidence.

Highlights like "Nya drömmar," "Bleep," and "Elven"
take listeners back to a purer time that even predates techno, while
worshipping the same seemingly alien electro-pop influences of
Kraftwerk, the distinguisher being that it has more to do with early
electronic experimentations in hip-hop and funk. The best thing about
the electronic culture is that the lines have always been a bit blurred,
bleeding over any perceived borders. This is how Cymasonic finds itself
releasing in such a classic American style -- but produced by
Scandinavians -- and the planet continues to spin 'round.

Kartech - House Shift (Wind Horse Records)

Coming Soon From Wind Horse Records
------------------------------------------------------------------
1. House Shift
2. Saturn's Solution
3. House Shift (Hamza Remix)
4. House Shift (Steve Conlan Mix)
5. House Shift (Priyesh Patil Remix)

"Following two previous compilation tracks under his Kartech moniker on Wind Horse Records, Thakur Kartik is now primed to release his debut EP, House Shift.
The label is excited to showcase this out-of-the-box deep house
producer and mix engineer who has already done much to help shape the
Wind Horse sound with his technical knowledge and musical background.
Kartech has also proven himself as a talented DJ on the New Delhi scene,
and fits right into the Wind Horse Records family as the label
continues to push the promising new house music talent of India.

Kartech provides two melodic and provocative deep tech originals for the release. “House Shift
has slight psychedelic accordion-like flurries over warm keys and
echoing stabs, all propelled by a rubbery bass line. Light touches of
dub effects round the track off nicely. Still undoubtedly deep, “Saturn's Solution
rings true within its minimal electronic groove. A jacking snare cuts
through the ebb of synthesizers as the track travels through unchartered
sci-fi territory.

Wind Horse enlists three familiar names from
the label’s roster to compliment “House Shift” with remixes, a tough
task as the original is already impressive. Label owner Hamza
gets loopy with the melodies, embellishing the low end through the
reverberating vibrations of a fat bass guitar riff. House music soldier Steve Conlan
also goes for the funky bass, even further testing the elasticity of
the original with plenty of movement. Hailing out of Mumbai with a
promisingly mature sound, Priyesh Patil provides the bounciest of
the remixes with the use of short, impactful notes, all while
maintaining an impressive atmosphere – the Wind Horse signature."

Gavin & Robbie Hardkiss RetroactiveFuturisticPsychedelicFunkBump Whiskey Pickle Records (WP015)

Take way back! With help friends like Jame Curd, Q-Burns, and Robbie Hardkiss & Gavin Hardkiss!

"Take it way back! With help from friends James Curd, Q-Burns, Robbie Hardkiss & Gavin Hardkiss! Sweet! "Not showing any signs of letting up in the new year, Whiskey Pickle Records keeps the funk rolling with a brand new single from the legendary duo of Gavin & Robbie Hardkiss. As founders of the classic U.S. rave progenitor Hardkiss alongside their sorely missed brother Scott Hardkiss, the pair have been mainstays in every aspect of dance music as producers, promoters, label heads, and world-class DJs. Fast forward to 2014 and the lads are still at it, offering up their latest creation in the form of “RetroactiveFuturisticPsychedelicFunkBump,” the second single from their forthcoming album 1991 which is due later this year. A slick slab of electro-boogie rhythms, the single features vocoded vox and a nasty bass that'll take listeners on an interstellar voyage from Cybotron to Planet Rock. A release such as this requires some serious thought when considering remixers, and Whiskey Pickle spared no expense. Having such industry luminaries as James Curd (of Greenskeepers fame) and Q-Burns Abstract Message, as well as Gavin Hardkiss' own Hawke moniker on board has proved to be essential in creating the total package. Each remixer finds a perfect, complimentary vibe to the original; whether it's the glossy, disco-funk of the James Curd version, or the relentless 808 bass and layered breaks on the Q-Burns Abstract Message treatment … or maybe it’s the retro, balearic vibe of the Hawke remix that does the trick? Whatever the occasion, Whiskey Pickle has the correct medicine to ease any afflictions."
