Deeelite - Pussycat Meow (Chang A Murko Edito)

Here's an extended edit I did of the 90's Classic Murk (Ralph Falcon & Oscar G) remix of Deee-lite's "Pussycat Meow." The original bonus beat I took it out from was very short like 1:53! Always loved the bonus beat, but had to quickly get out of the mix or rock 2 copies to extend it. But now with the magic of digital editing tools I finally after all these years made a edit long enough to make a dub out of it. Extended the beats & breaks added some Deelite drops and bam it's chugging along. Raw & simple it does the job in the mix, hey I got some good feedback on it from Doc Martin himself on Facebook, guess its not that bad.

Who was Deee-lite you ask? Why would you be asking?

Deee-Lite was an American house and club/dance group, formed in New York CityUnited States. The group's best-known single was "Groove Is in the Heart", from their 1990 debut albumWorld Clique. However, Deee-Lite achieved longer lasting success on the U.S.Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart, where they scored six number-one hits.

Glass Tables

Beware of glass tables at afterhours! There's always that one person that thinks they are small enough to fall through the glass table! Don't be one of them! Unless your name is Alice and you've been chasing a White Rabbit! It's a mix that starts off with a word from Alice herself and then goes into a long journey down the rabbit hole of sonic bass &beats!
Download here: Glass Tables

"Soon her eye fell on a little glass box that was lying under the table: she opened it, and found in it a very small cake, on which the words `EAT ME' were beautifully marked in currants. `Well, I'll eat it,' said Alice, `and if it makes me grow larger, I can reach the key; and if it makes me grow smaller, I can creep under the door; so either way I'll get into the garden, and I don't care which happens!'  Alice In Wonderland

WMC Miami 2012

Well it's that time of the year again for Winter Music Conference in Miami 2012, here are 2 spots I'm playing at this week. Was not so much planning on going, but got some offers to play this year so why not, and I get to see my family while I'm down there. Lots of cool events as always, but of course you have to filter out many of the repeat lineup ones. Lots of events but seems that every year the lineups get smaller and smaller as far as variety, since most of the promoters, labels, djs doing the events are into similar sounds. Lots of boat parties, villa parties, pool parties, and of course after-hours which is in the Downtown Area of Miami. For a full comprehensive list go here: WMC List

You can hear me at these 2 events: Kaos & Dutchie Music Party!

Here's also a music mix I made for my road trip to Miami..

Dj Cam - "Swim"

Sweet new single from DJ Cam! Love the video!

Press Release:
Parisian abstract maestro DJ Cam is well known for his radical reinventions, a life-long musician who's groundbreaking work established him as a pioneer in the worlds of underground hip-hop, trip-hop, and the dance scenes stretching from New York to Paris to Tokyo and beyond.

Drawing inspiration from the hypnotic trance of voodoo culture, Public Enemy, dub and easy-listening jazz, Cam's style assumes a new identity with each and every project since he first hit the scene in 1994 with his debut Underground Vibes and continues to redefine many of the sounds he had a hand in creating throughout his career.

2011 & 2012  promises big things for DJ Cam as he returns this August with Seven, a new album linking themusical styles of Radiohead and Massive Attack and his first album since 2002's Soulshine. Cam will also be hitting the road as a DJ early on in the year and then featuring his new live project come spring. Redefinition once again.

Burial & Four Tet - "Nova"

Burial is back with Four Tet with a the deep dub stylings we all love from him, very nice composition of haunting sounds. The vocals are deep and the beats are more on the 4/4 scale of beats, which crosses over even into house music territory. It's always a breath of fresh air when a producer breaks the mold of what he is known for, and breaks out of the box the press & fans have branded him with.

Sea Creatures Old School Mixtape

I recently uploaded a old mixtape I did back in 1997, mainly 90s House Music in content. This was originally on a cassette as you will notice on the quality. Listening to this again brings back alot of memories especially the days when I used to be the resident at Simons back from 1993-2000. All I can say is alot of these old house tracks still sound good to this day, man I got to get some these tracks out of storage! Sorry no tracklist cause I cant remember half of the music I mixed on it.
Here's the download link: Sea Creatures 1997 Mixtape!

Johnny Blackouts - Boozehound EP (Whiskey Pickle)

Diggin this new release from Whisky Pickle, a nice variety of disco indie infused dance grooves that will lift the soul. Im especially crating the Walter Jone's remix of "Broken," with its lush synths & cosmic disco groove, and "Skrewhead" with it's big room drive! Look out for it!

Coming Soon From Whiskey Pickle

1. Broken
2. Broken (Walter Jones Remix)
3. Topshelf
4. Skrewhead

Johnny Blackouts’ Boozehound EP is an orchestral stupor through dark city streets. It’s an ivory-suited John Travolta stepping out with his Saturday night swagger and a pocketful of psychedelic fever for the disco. Colors change with every footfall. Unsuspecting horns blare out of alleyways. Crumpled men nestled betwixt rusty trash cans raise their heads momentarily, spurting out humanity’s wrongdoings. But the walk continues just as it started - easy, undisturbed, embracing adventure around every corner. Johnny Blackouts’ Boozehound EP is flawlessly structured to complement a rich and heavy population of sounds, generating the bloodline of an animated metropolis.

Elevating in effect, "Broken" harmonizes organic, woody sounds with the whizzes and whirs of the future. Blackouts’ track is headstrong and undeniably rousing - an ideal accompaniment for the journey outward.

Walter Jones knows you want more woodblock. In his take of "Broken," the DFA recording artist adds a sprinkle of boom-snap, neatly reigning the cornucopia of the original into a candy-covered Tootsie Roll center. Grand sweeps and key-filled crescendos heighten the Jones’ experience.

In "Topshelf," red and blue lasers turn away from each other, slicing through the fog. There are ripped t-shirts and flashes of patent leather canvas purple eye shadows and hot pink cheek streaks. The white-clad outsider wipes the whiskey from the corners of his mouth, as a malformed David Lynch character does a sideways tip-toe across the room, and a saxophone laments in the distance. Chained together by a golden thread, "Topshelf" is a cinema of soundscapes.

Johnny Blackouts spares no expense when it comes to cerebral coitus. Laden with jarring samples and a frenzied tempo, "Skrewhead" ties up the Boozehound EP nicely. The peppy stroll around the way peaks with an intoxicating tempest of sounds..
